Dr. Bee Xiong-Vang
Dr. Bee Xiong-Vang is a Licensed Psychologist in MN and WI. She received her Doctoral Clinical Psychology degree from the Wisconsin School of Professional Psychology in Milwaukee, WI. She completed her doctoral residency internship with the Wisconsin Department of Corrections. Dr. Bee is also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in WI, obtaining her Masters of Social Work degree from the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee. Dr. Bee identifies as a Hmong, BIPOC, refugee woman, and is bilingual in Hmong and English. She has worked primarily in private practices and community mental health centers, providing both psychotherapy and psychological testing services to culturally and linguistically diverse populations. She is dedicated to serving marginalized populations, especially refugee and immigrant families.
Dr. Bee has over six years of providing and training clinical trainees to provide psychological evaluations with culturally and linguistically diverse populations. Providing valid evaluations with this special population is a passion and mission for Dr. Bee, as she has experienced how culturally and linguistically competent evaluations can be a tool for social justice for this population.
Dr. Bee’s overarching theoretical orientation for psychotherapy is psychodynamic, the belief that there are various internal factors and motives that drive our thoughts and behaviors. The treatment modalities she utilizes include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) skills, Mindfulness, and trauma therapies.
On a personal note, Dr. Bee is family-oriented and enjoys spending time with her three sons, husband, and large extended family. She also enjoys traveling, going to the beach, and trying new food.
